BEHAVIOR SUPPORT

 

Dogs are complex beings, each with their own learning history, emotional patterns, and unique physiology. 

At Merdock’s Training, we don’t suppress behavior. We work together to understand what’s driving it and to create a plan that supports your dog’s well-being, safety, and long-term success. Behavior modification is more than teaching dogs to follow cues. Our goal is to change the underlying emotional response, habits, and reinforcement patterns driving the behavior so that your dog can develop healthier, more adaptive ways of coping and responding. 

During the process, you’ll work closely with Heir, sharing videos between sessions and receiving personalized feedback and support. Throughout your time together, Heir will be just a text away for questions, concerns, or simply to celebrate your dog’s progress.

 

Heir works with behaviors such as:

• Reactivity (toward dogs, people, or environmental triggers)

• Anxiety and Fear

• High arousal (overexcitement, difficulty settling, frustration behaviors)

• And other common behavior concerns.

Please note, Heir does not currently take clients with a severe bite history or with complex medical or neurobehavioral conditions. If you are unsure whether your case fits within this scope, Heir is happy to help you determine the best next steps or refer you to an appropriate specialist.
